About The Event
In 1982 … long before the Internet, selfies, RWC and reality TV there was a band creating a new DIY sound in the garages of suburban Taradale.
With no clue, absolutely no skill and a flanger pedal ,Igneous Rocker and the Fossils released three albums under the watchful eye of manager Stan Wood.
Comprising members Justin Harwood, Matt Baker, Glenn Kilmister, Adam Baker , Dean Zillwood and Peter Hamilton the Fossils began a new sound described as “unidentifiable ‘ by one critic.
The Fossils went their separate ways in 1985. Their farewell performance,as part of the Live Aid global music festival Save the World, was a triumph. More a Herald than a Bonneville or a Tiger. Three decades later the boys reformed for a reunion gig in 2015.
Now in 2018 believing that enough time has passed to erase the pain of that last outing, Igneous Rocker and the Fossils will be digging up the classics from their greatest hits album ‘Fossilized Rock.’ Hits such as Spastic Plastics, Red is Dead, Panache Man and many more will be given a right seeing to.
With special guests Rope Tin and MBE this promises to be a night where are art and music collide and one of which comes out worse for wear.
Catch them live, one night only on Friday September 14 at the Paisley Stage, Napier. $10 on the door.
